Part-time Nanny, 3 days

Job Description

Support a young family in Chelsea as a Part-time Nanny, giving their baby warm, attentive care and keeping the home running smoothly on three mornings a week. You’ll blend nurturing childcare with light housekeeping, becoming a trusted, long-term extra pair of hands.

Role Overview

You’ll care for one baby and help with household tasks on set days, focusing on safe routines, engaging play and tidy, organised family spaces. The family would love a bubbly, proactive nanny who can also cook simple meals; Portuguese speakers are especially welcomed, though strong English is also fine.

Key Responsibilities

• Take daily responsibility for the baby’s safety, wellbeing and development
• Follow and implement consistent daily routines (feeding, naps, playtime)
• Change nappies, prepare and sterilise bottles and support weaning as appropriate
• Wash, dress and settle the baby for naps, keeping them comfortable and secure
• Organise and participate in age‑appropriate activities and local outings
• Keep the baby’s bedroom, toys and play areas tidy and clean
• Cook for the baby and, ideally, simple family meals
• Manage family laundry and ironing, including careful handling of key items
• Clean kitchen and bathrooms surfaces; hoover, mop and dust main areas
• Assist with general housekeeping: beds, linens, dishes, and occasional deep‑cleaning tasks

Hours and Pay

• Location: Chelsea, London
• Working days: Tuesday, Friday and Saturday (or Wednesday or Sunday by agreement)
• Hours: 8:00am–12:00pm on working days (approximately 12 hours per week)
• Job type: Part-time, permanent
• Salary: £18–£22 gross per hour, negotiable depending on experience

Candidate Profile

• At least 2 years’ professional experience in nanny or childcare roles
• Valid paediatric first aid qualification (essential)
• Friendly, energetic and able to take initiative with both childcare and tasks
• Happy to support light housekeeping and confident with ironing
• Educated to at least one year of post‑school study preferred
• Portuguese speaker highly preferred, but strong English (native or SL) also welcomed
• Comfortable working in a home with a cat (no pet care required)
