Position: Part-time MLRO (Payment Services)

Well, it offers plenty of flexibility for starters.

It’s 2 days a week and you can choose the days to suit you.

You can work fully remotely, split your time between home and the office (Essex), or be fully office-based, it’s up to you.

And there’s plenty of scope to really make your mark.

You’ll build your vision of a best-in-class Compliance function

You’ll get to build your own team.

You’ll be working with a start‑up payment services business on the brink of going live (API license pending), with aspirations to secure their EMI license further down the line.

You’ll start by reviewing and overhauling the existing compliance frameworks, policies and procedures, ensuring they’re fit for purpose and proportionate to the business.

You’ll need to adopt a hands‑on approach initially, onboarding customers, monitoring transactions, investigating suspicious activity and submitting SARs reports.

As the business scales, you’ll have the backing to recruit your own small team of Financial Crime Analysts.

It is also anticipated that this role will evolve over time, initially to 3 days a week and then potentially becoming full‑time.

What we’re looking for.

You’ll be an experienced MLRO with strong payments experience and a proven track record of designing and implementing robust, proportionate frameworks, policies and procedures.

You’ll have a ‘start‑up’ mentality, be commercially astute and be happy operating in a hands‑on capacity.

Excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills are essential.
