An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Part Time Homelessness Advisor (Evictions) to join one of London’s most improved local authority councils in a temporary, on-going assignment.
Our housing client is looking for an experienced homeless adviser who can deal with Housing Options as well as court proceedings. Nearly half of their homelessness applications are from clients whose Private Rented
Sector landlords are looking to evict them so strong experience of dealing with these type of homeless cases is essential.Based in Sutton in South-West London, the position will be on the Homelessness Team and this is a part time post (rotating each week between 14-21 hours, Monday to Wednesday) and the client is keen to recruit a candidate with previous experience of:
• Providing an efficient and effective front line service for residents, tenants and leaseholders accessing the Housing Options Service.
• Delivering a responsive service to clients in housing need by interviewing and investigating household’s circumstances in order to determine the best options and resources available.
• Assessing homeless applications within Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 including cases for acceptance, refusal or referral to other authorities.
• Completing defence forms and scrutinising Section 21 notices.
• Motivating clients, updating Personal Housing Plans (PHP’s) and organising the paperwork to get ready for court.
Please note, you must have a minimum of twelve months homelessness assessment experience to be considered for this role. An enhanced DBS is required for this role.
