HGV Pallet Driver | East Sussex & Kent | Ongoing Contract

CDH Recruitment is seeking experienced HGV Pallet Drivers to join an ongoing contract covering East Sussex and Kent. Main Duties

Vehicle Integrity: Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and record all defects to ensure safety and compliance before setting off.
Load Management: Responsible for packing, loading, and securing goods. You must be comfortable moving heavy objects within the lorry and using a pallet pump truck.
Route Execution: Deliver and collect palletized goods across designated routes in East Sussex and Kent, often involving multi-drop schedules.
Customer Service: Act as a professional ambassador for the company. You will review deliveries with recipients for accuracy and obtain formal delivery confirmations.
Communication: Maintain real-time contact with route dispatchers to report road issues, location challenges, or delivery discrepancies.
Manual Handling: Perform “handballing” (manual unloading) when required to ensure goods are placed exactly where the customer needs them.

Qualifications and Skills

Licensing: Valid HGV License (Category C or C+E), Digi Tacho, and CPC card are essential.
Experience: Minimum of 6 months commercial driving experience, specifically with pallet collections and deliveries.
Driving Record: Maximum of 6 points. We cannot accept applicants with DD, DR, or INT endorsements.
Physical Fitness: Ability to move heavy objects and operate manual handling equipment throughout the shift.
Logistics: Must have your own transport to reach the vehicle base.
