Bright Heart Education is an award-winning tuition agency (National Tutoring Awards winner 2022) known for its nurturing, heart-based approach to education. We are urgently seeking experienced SEN and Autism (ASC) Tutors to support students who may lack confidence or face complex learning barriers. We don’t just teach subjects; we meet the “whole person” to build trust and self-esteem before focusing on academics. While we are seeking Manchester-based tutors for online delivery, we have a strong preference for candidates who also have the availability for in-person tutoring to meet the growing needs of our students.

The Role & Delivery

  • Target Students: Children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), specifically those with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

  • Delivery Models: * One-to-one tuition in the student’s home (with a guardian present).

    • Small group tuition (up to 1:6) within school settings.

  • Location: Online, with a strong preference for in-person capability in Manchester and Greater Manchester.

  • Subject Focus: Tutors are expected to be subject specialists capable of creating bespoke, engaging, and informative lessons.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

  • The ‘Bright Heart’ Persona: Caring, patient, empathetic, and professional. You must be passionate about building self-belief in your students.

  • Experience: At least 12 months of teaching or tutoring experience in the UK, with specific experience in SEN/ASC.

  • Qualifications: A university degree (or currently studying) and strong A-levels.

  • Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to design bespoke lessons that motivate and inspire.

Essential Compliance

  • Right to Work: Must be eligible to work in the UK.

  • Safeguarding: A current Enhanced DBS (Child Barred List check) is mandatory. We can assist with the application if you do not hold one.

  • References: Two professional references and one parent reference are required.

  • Background: Overseas checks/Police certificates are required if you have lived or worked abroad in the last 5 years.
