Occupational Health Nurse (Belfast – Days Only)

Contract Type: Full-time.

Role Summary

A prominent organization in Belfast is looking for a certified Occupational Health Nurse to join its established team. Primary Duties:

Ensuring all clinical functions adhere to current legislative and regulatory standards.
Safeguarding and updating all medical files, specialized equipment, and health programs.
Performing annual audits and revisions of Occupational Health policies to reflect legal and business shifts.
Conducting pre-employment health screenings, analyzing data, and drafting professional fitness-for-work reports.
Executing organizational risk assessments and managing VDU Ergonomics evaluations.
Developing strategic wellness initiatives to enhance employee health and decrease absence rates.
Partnering with GPs, Physiotherapists, Consultants, and OHPs for comprehensive case management.
Creating structured return-to-work pathways following long-term illness or severe injury.
Overseeing the clinical management of splash or needle-stick incidents.
Providing regular health metrics and progress updates to the management team.
Coordinating and leading vaccination programs for Influenza, Hepatitis B, and other relevant immunizations.

Candidate Requirements:

Credentials: Valid registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Specialization: Possession of a recognized Occupational Health qualification (or a demonstrated intent to obtain one).
Clinical Skills: Proficiency in Spirometry, Audiometry, Phlebotomy, Vision Screening, VDU Ergonomics, and vaccine administration.
Soft Skills: Superior listening and empathy skills combined with professional interpersonal communication.
Logistics: Excellent organizational capabilities with a history of meeting high-level professional deadlines.
Experience: A minimum of two years in an occupational health nursing environment.
