Job Description

Provide vital mental health support where it’s needed most as an NHS RMN with Secure Healthcare Solutions in Liverpool. You’ll choose when and where you work, delivering high‑quality care on an agency basis across a variety of wards and clinical environments.

Role Overview

As a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) working via agency, you’ll be deployed into NHS services to support existing teams. You’ll deliver safe, person‑centred care, administer medications, contribute to care plans and act as a key point of support for patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and prescribed treatments in line with policies and NMC standards
• Collaborate with physicians, MDT members and other nurses to create and review care plans
• Monitor mental and physical health, escalating changes promptly and accurately
• Maintain clear, accurate patient records and contribute to documentation as required
• Respond to questions, concerns and complaints from patients and their families with empathy
• Provide psychological support and counselling before, during and after treatment episodes
• Help track and maintain ward stock and medical supplies
• Promote a safe, therapeutic environment, supporting de‑escalation and safeguarding where needed

Skills and Experience

• Current valid RMN registration and nursing licence
• Minimum 1 year’s post‑registration nursing experience (RMN settings preferred)
• Willingness to work a flexible rota, including 8–12 hour day and night shifts
• Excellent bedside manner and communication skills
• Ability to explain treatments and conditions clearly to patients and families
• Working knowledge of healthcare law, regulation, and safeguarding
• Confident, calm approach in challenging or rapidly changing clinical situations
