Model Developer, Trading and Client Controls

0840 Deutsche Bank Aktiengesellschaft, Filiale London

Job Description

Elevate your career as a Model Developer (Vice President) within the Group Strategic Analytics (GSA) division at Deutsche Bank. Based in London, you will join the Trading and Client Controls (TaCC) team—a global unit tasked with protecting the bank’s integrity through sophisticated quantitative solutions.

In this high-impact role, you are the architect of defense. You will take full ownership of developing bespoke anomaly detection models designed to identify fraud across all products and regions within the Investment and Corporate Banks. This isn’t just about writing code; it’s about solving complex, evolving quantitative puzzles using massive datasets. You will bridge the gap between initial prototyping and full-scale production, ensuring our “Global Hausbank” remains a secure environment for clients worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model Engineering: Lead the end-to-end implementation of anomaly detection models, transitioning from experimental prototypes to rigorous production environments.

  • Code Governance: Drive the growth of a high-quality, scalable code base by following industry best practices in testing, documentation, and version control.

  • Performance Monitoring: Develop and evolve platform reporting statistics to monitor model success and ensure ongoing accuracy in identifying suspicious patterns.

  • Stakeholder Management: Translate complex business requirements into technical proposals, acting as a consultant to internal infrastructure and business functions.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Quantitative Expertise: Proven experience in data science or model development within a professional business setting.

  • Programming Mastery: Advanced proficiency in the Python/Anaconda ecosystem, specifically Scikit-learn, Pandas, and Numpy.

  • Analytical Depth: Strong research capabilities with the ability to work independently on multifaceted data problems.

  • Domain Knowledge: A solid grasp of financial markets and risk types, such as Know Your Client (KYC), anti-fraud, or machine learning-driven anomaly detection.

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Maths, Physics, CS, Stats) or equivalent professional experience.
