About the Role
Based at the Clarkston Campus, you will be responsible for the daily operation, inspection, and repair of critical HVAC and mechanical systems. This is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary role where you will manage everything from large-scale chiller systems to general building repairs. You will play a key part in preventative maintenance planning, ensuring that our campus environment remains safe, functional, and efficient for students and faculty alike.
Key Responsibilities

HVAC Operations: Daily maintenance and operation of chillers, split systems, pumps, boilers, and heaters.

Technical Testing: Performing vibration analysis, nondestructive testing, and specialized lubrication to prevent equipment failure.

Preventative Maintenance: Assisting in the scheduling of maintenance tasks and coordinating with external vendors and contractors.

Building Repairs: Performing general maintenance on doors and windows, along with minor electrical and plumbing work.

Reporting: Preparing detailed inspection reports on mechanical and building equipment status.

General Maintenance: Ensuring campus standards are met through routine tasks such as lighting replacement and general upkeep.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

Education & Experience: * Technical/Vocational degree + 2 years of HVAC experience; OR * High School Diploma/GED + 4 years of HVAC experience; OR * An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certification: Must possess the EPA Technician CFC/HCFC and HFC Universal certification (40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F) or be able to obtain it within six months of hire.
Preferred Skills:

In-depth knowledge of large chiller systems and equipment installation techniques.

Proficiency in analyzing and solving complex equipment failures.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work in confined spaces.
