Stantec is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to join their Water sector team in Manchester and across the UK. As the water industry enters a period of unprecedented investment (AMP8), Stantec is positioned as a primary partner for the UK’s major water frameworks. This is a call for technical specialists who want to move beyond standard consultancy and take ownership of the design, specification, and delivery of assets that ensure national water security and environmental resilience.

Technical Expertise: Proven experience in the design and specification of mechanical or electrical assets within the water or wastewater industries.
Project Lifecycle Knowledge: Familiarity with the full project lifecycle, particularly within a Design & Build environment.
Professional Standing: Engineers at various levels are encouraged to apply, especially those with (or working toward) Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

The Water Sector Context (2026)

The UK water industry is currently in the early stages of AMP8 (Asset Management Plan period 8), which runs from 2025 to 2030. This period represents the largest investment in the sector’s history:
