Location: Glasgow, G3 6RQ (campus based and occasional attendance at our Forres Campus)

Salary: Grade 3 £24,685 – £27,319 (per annum. pro rata)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week

Applications are invited for a Maintenance Technician, in the Estates department at GSA.

To carry out routine, planned and reactive maintenance works across the campus, as directed by the Maintenan

ce Officer or Maintenance Manager. Working as part of a maintenance team, you will be supported by the Maintenance Officer and Maintenance Manager to provide a reactive repair service in general building services across our campus. You will be required to carry out minor refurbishments and upgrade works as they may arise across all GSA occupied property including student halls of residence. You will be expected to provide information and reports on ongoing repairs and to liaise and coordinate the work of external contractors as required. A working knowledge of basic IT packages such as Microsoft applications would be advantageous.

The following experience and qualifications are necessary for the position:
• Postholder must be able to demonstrate appropriate skills and competencies gained from at least 2 years’ experience in maintenance works
• A broad knowledge of building construction is required
• An effective understanding of health and safety legislation within the construction industry is essential
• Ability to organise safe methods of working is essential.
