Newco Nannies Limited t/a Harmony at Home Leeds and Northwest Yorkshire
Job Description
A warm, organised Mother’s Help / Nanny is needed to support a lovely family in Alwoodley, Leeds, caring for three children: a 5‑year‑old boy, a 3‑year‑old girl and an 11‑month‑old baby boy. They’re seeking someone proactive, nurturing and reliable to become an extra pair of hands.
You’ll work alongside mum with the day‑to‑day care and routines, helping manage busy afternoons and creating a calm, structured environment. The children are energetic and adore outdoor play in their large garden with climbing frame, so you should be confident supervising active play and promoting safe exploration.
Indoors, you’ll plan fun, age‑appropriate activities such as crafts, games, reading and simple learning play, tailoring ideas for different ages. The family would like someone experienced with multiple children who can confidently care for the baby as well as the older two, allowing mum to focus on work for a few hours.
Mum will usually be at home and available if needed, but you should be comfortable taking initiative and having short periods of sole charge, particularly with the older children. Some light child‑related household tasks may be included, such as tidying toys, children’s laundry and clearing up after meals and activities.
The core schedule is 20 hours per week: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2pm–7pm, plus either Tuesday or Friday from 9am–2pm. There are no pets in the home and driving is not essential, although being able to travel reliably to Alwoodley is important.
Applicants must have at least two years’ childcare experience, ideally with siblings or multiples, and hold or be working towards a Level 3 childcare qualification or equivalent. An Enhanced DBS check, 12‑hour Paediatric First Aid certificate and strong references are required; personal nanny insurance is recommended.
This is a fixed‑term position introduced by Newco Nannies Limited trading as Harmony at Home Leeds and Northwest Yorkshire. The hourly rate is £13.50. The agency undertakes right‑to‑work checks, DBS verification and reference follow‑up, and supports equality, diversity and non‑discrimination across all placements.
Registration typically involves an interview and right‑to‑work check, usually face‑to‑face but sometimes via video call and digital identity verification (IDSP) where appropriate. Candidates should only apply for roles where they clearly meet the requirements to help streamline the process and ensure speedy, effective matching for both nannies and families.
