Job Summary

The post holder will work as a Locum Registrar (ST3–ST8 level) within the NHS Trust, providing high-quality clinical care to patients within their designated specialty. The role is designed to support service delivery, cover rota gaps, and ensure continuity of patient care in line with Trust and national standards.

This position is suitable for doctors with previous UK or equivalent experience at registrar (middle grade) level, who hold ALS certification and are available for immediate or short-notice start.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day medical care of inpatients and outpatients under consultant supervision.
• Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, theatre sessions (where applicable), and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Undertake acute and emergency duties, including on-call commitments as per rota.
• Support junior medical staff and participate in clinical teaching and supervision.
• Ensure timely documentation and communication within patient records.
• Contribute to audit, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities.
• Liaise effectively with nursing, allied health professionals, and administrative colleagues to maintain safe and efficient patient care.
• Maintain compliance with Trust policies, GMC guidance, and data protection standards.

Essential Requirements
• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
• Full GMC registration with a current licence to practise
• Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience (ST3 level or above)
• Valid ALS (Advanced Life Support) certification
• Experience in the relevant specialty
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and independently

Desirable Requirements
• MRCP / MRCS / MRCOG / FRCA / equivalent postgraduate qualification
• Previous NHS experience at registrar level
• Audit, teaching, or research involvement

• Salary: As per NHS pay scales (dependent on experience and specialty)
• Working Pattern: Variable (including days, nights, weekends, and on-calls as required)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: £56.49-£85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
