This is a high-profile, 12-month fixed-term opportunity for a Consultant Nephrologist to join the renowned Glasgow Renal and Transplant Unit at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. In this 5-session post, you will collaborate with a friendly, multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, including dialysis and transplant follow-up. You will be instrumental in managing a high-volume service that supports approximately 600 haemodialysis patients and performs over 130 transplants annually, ensuring the continued delivery of excellence in renal replacement therapy and acute kidney injury management.

Requirements and Skills

  • Specialty Expertise: Experience in providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient nephrology, transplant follow-up, and dialysis services.

  • Consultant Level Competency: Ability to work within a consultant team to lead and deliver renal services across the Greater Glasgow, Clyde, and Forth Valley regions.

  • Clinical Volume Management: Capability to support a service managing 65 inpatient beds, 600 haemodialysis patients, 50 peritoneal dialysis patients, and 1,000+ transplant patients.

  • On-Call Commitment: Availability to participate in the designated shift pattern and on-call rotation for the unit.
