Live In Care Assistant

Job Description

Make a real difference every day as a Live-In Care Assistant with Careworkers UK across Greater London. You’ll move into a client’s home for each placement, offering round‑the‑clock support, reassurance and practical help so they can stay safe, comfortable and independent at home.

Role Overview

Working typically on a 2-weeks-on / 1-week-off basis (with some flexibility), you’ll live with one client at a time in areas such as Bromley, Croydon, Bexley, Merton, Lewisham, Sutton, Kingston and Greenwich. You’ll provide personal care, companionship and practical assistance, following individual care plans and respecting each person’s routine, dignity and preferences.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and continence support
• Assist with mobility, positioning and safe movement around the home
• Prepare meals, support nutrition and hydration, and help with household tasks
• Offer companionship, conversation and emotional support, helping reduce isolation
• Prompt or support medication in line with the care plan and training
• Monitor and record changes in health or wellbeing, reporting concerns promptly
• Help arrange and accompany clients to appointments, local visits or activities as agreed
• Maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times

About You

• Previous care experience (domiciliary, live‑in, residential or similar) is strongly preferred
• Reliable, trustworthy and able to manage the responsibility of living in a client’s home
• Strong communication skills and a warm, respectful manner
• Practical, patient and able to adapt to different personalities, homes and routines
• Willing to commit to typical 2‑week live‑in placements followed by rest periods
• Right to work in the UK; DBS and references will be required
