Job Summary: Life Sciences R&D Data & AI Consultant
Clarivate is seeking a specialized Consultant to join their Technology Consulting team in either London or Barcelona. This role sits at the intersection of deep scientific research and cutting-edge technology, using Clarivate’s massive data assets alongside Generative AI and Machine Learning to solve complex R&D challenges. You will help leading Life Sciences organizations accelerate drug discovery, navigate regulatory hurdles, and design digital healthcare tools. Requirements and Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a Life Sciences discipline.

Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally within Life Sciences or Healthcare consulting.

Domain Knowledge: Strong grasp of the Drug Discovery and Development lifecycle, including clinical programs, regulatory milestones, and safety requirements.

AI Expertise: Demonstrated experience with Generative AI (LLM architectures, prompt engineering, few-shot learning) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) for scientific content.

Technical Familiarity: Knowledge of digital healthcare tool development and Life Sciences ontologies/terminologies.

Soft Skills: Ability to lead small-scale engagements, manage multi-disciplinary teams (data engineers, architects), and present complex findings to R&D stakeholders.
Role Overview
As a Consultant, you will take ownership of high-impact Data & AI deliverables. You will act as a bridge between scientific rigor and technical execution—translating a client’s regulatory or clinical needs into actionable AI strategies. Whether you are validating a new ML-based accelerator or designing a prototype for a clinical analytics project, your goal is to ensure scientific accuracy while leveraging modern tech. You will also contribute to the broader industry conversation by developing white papers and proof-of-concepts that showcase Clarivate’s unique AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities

Project Ownership: Manage components of complex Data & AI projects, ensuring they meet timelines and customer expectations.

Solution Strategy: Engage directly with R&D teams to translate their requirements into data-driven solutions.

Thought Leadership: Create blogs, white papers, and reference implementations to showcase AI innovations.

Collaboration: Work with global Solution Architecture and Product teams to scale R&D use cases.

Mentorship: Guide and coordinate junior consultants to maintain high-quality project outputs.

Innovation: Contribute to the design of new AI/ML prototypes and “accelerators” for the Life Sciences market.
