The Kingsway School in Gatley is looking for a proactive and organized Library Resource Centre (LRC) Manager to lead our vibrant learning hub. As a central figure in our school community, you will oversee the daily operations of the LRC, creating an inviting space that fosters both academic success and a genuine passion for reading. This permanent, term-time position is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join the Education Learning Trust (ELT), an inclusive multi-academy trust dedicated to empowering staff and students alike through innovation and collaboration.


Details of the Role

  • Lead the day-to-day running of our vibrant learning space at the heart of the school.

  • Manage and develop library stock and resources, maintain an inviting and purposeful LRC environment.

  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure the space supports both students’ social and academic needs.

  • Work in partnership with the Whole School Literacy Leads to help identify students for Lexonic reading interventions.

  • Promote a strong reading culture, designing and delivering engaging extra-curricular activities.

  • Coordinate events linked to national literacy initiatives such as World Book Day, National Poetry Day and National Storytelling Week.

  • Be passionate about reading, well organised, proactive and confident working with young people and staff.


About the Role

In this pivotal literacy role, you will collaborate with the Whole School Literacy Leads to identify students for reading interventions and champion a culture of “reading for pleasure” across all year groups. Beyond managing resources, you will be the creative force behind school-wide events and extra-curricular initiatives that celebrate the written word.
