Lead Occupational Therapist (Band 7)
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a forward-thinking and experienced Lead Occupational Therapist to join our inpatient mental health services across Greater Manchester. In this pivotal Band 7 role, you will lead OT practice across adult and older adult wards in Bury, Oldham, Stockport, or Tameside & Glossop. You will be a champion for holistic, person-centred care, ensuring that occupational therapy remains at the heart of our service transformation and enabling patients to build meaningful lives through evidence-based practice.
Core Requirements and Skills

BSc (Hons) or equivalent Occupational Therapy qualification.

Current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.

Accredited Fieldwork/Practice Educator and trained Clinical Supervisor.

Post-registration study equivalent to Master’s level and leadership/management training.

Extensive experience in mental health, demonstrating clinical specialism competencies.

Excellent clinical application of the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) for complex mental health needs.

Proven experience in line management, supervision, and service development.

Strong skills in risk assessment, audit, research, and change management.

Full UK driving licence or access to mobility to travel across the Trust footprint.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Develop and manage the OT service within your locality, working in partnership with Ward Managers and Quality Leads to ensure safe and effective service delivery.

Clinical Excellence: Use highly specialist skills to apply and interpret standardised OT assessments, evaluating service user outcomes through the MOHO framework.

Workforce Development: Support and develop the OT workforce, including the supervision of qualified staff, apprentices, and students.

Service Improvement: Lead initiatives that align with the Trust’s values of kindness and ingenuity, ensuring compliance with national policy and clinical quality standards.
