Lead Occupational Therapist (Band 7)
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking visionary Lead Occupational Therapists to transform inpatient mental health care across Greater Manchester. This role offers a significant leadership platform to shape evidence-based practice across adult and older adult wards in Bury, Oldham, Stockport, or Tameside & Glossop.
Core Requirements and Skills

Professional Standards: BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy and current HCPC registration.

Clinical Expertise: Extensive experience in mental health with an excellent clinical application of the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) for patients with complex needs.

Education & Training: Post-registration study equivalent to Master’s level; must be an Accredited Practice Educator with clinical supervision training.

Leadership: Proven experience in line management, change management, and service development. Management/leadership training is essential.

Mobility: Access to a vehicle or a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint as required.

Vetting: This role requires an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
Key Responsibilities

Service Leadership: Take the lead in developing and managing the OT service within a specific locality, ensuring compliance with Trust standards and core values.

Workforce Development: Partner with Ward Managers and Quality Leads to support and develop the OT workforce, including apprentices and students.

Clinical Excellence: Deliver highly specialist clinical interventions and ensure the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective OT services.

Strategic Partnership: Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams (MDT) to champion holistic care and influence wider service improvements.

Governance & Audit: Lead research and audit initiatives to evaluate service user outcomes and ensure clinical quality.
