Acorns Marple, part of the Keys Group, is seeking a resilient and empathetic KS2 SEN Teacher to join our specialist team in Stockport. Our school is a sanctuary for young people who have faced significant challenges, providing a safe, therapeutic environment where they can overcome barriers to learning. We are looking for a dedicated educator who understands that behavior is a form of communication and who is passionate about using trauma-informed practices to unlock the potential of every child.
Purpose of the Role
To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviors. You will be responsible for fostering a classroom culture that prioritizes emotional regulation alongside academic achievement.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons tailored to pupils with SEND and trauma histories.

Monitor pupil progress using assessment data and adapt teaching strategies in real-time to maintain engagement.

Implement therapeutic approaches to promote social, emotional, and academic development.

Maintain high expectations for behavior and learning, adhering to the school’s trauma-informed behavior policy.

Lead a classroom team, collaborating with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide holistic support.
Requirements

Qualifications: QTS or QTLS qualification is essential.

Experience: Proven track record of teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behavior.

Specialist Knowledge: Strong understanding of curriculum adaptation, assessment, and behavior management within a special education setting.
