Job Description
Join the Members Dining Room team at Wimbledon F&D as a full-time Kitchen Porter, keeping the heart of the kitchen running smoothly. You’ll ensure spotless plates, pans and workspaces, supporting chefs and front-of-house to deliver an exceptional experience for club members.
Role Overview
Based in the Members Dining Room, you’ll work across a formal restaurant, casual Club Room and Landing Bar operation. You’ll handle pot wash, deliveries and waste, maintain a clean, safe back-of-house, and keep service areas fully restocked so every service starts ready and calm.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots and pans using industrial dishwashers and manual methods
- Keep pot-wash, kitchen and service areas clean, tidy and safe at all times
- Collect food and beverage items from main stores and unload/load cages and deliveries
- Remove kitchen waste and recycling in line with company procedures
- Prepare your designated work area for each service, ensuring all equipment and chemicals are in place
- Clear breakages and spillages immediately, disposing of glass safely and correctly
- Stack equipment back into cages safely (heavy items at the bottom, lighter at the top)
- Work closely with chefs and the wider team to support a smooth, efficient service
- Leave clearance areas and kitchens fully cleaned down, floors mopped and debris removed after service
- Restock disposables and cleaning chemicals, raising requisitions when supplies run low
About You
- Positive, can-do attitude and quick to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual and comfortable working 5 days out of 7, including some weekends
- Physically fit enough for standing, lifting and moving cages and equipment
- Able to follow hygiene, Health & Safety, Manual Handling and COSHH procedures
- Happy working as part of a close-knit team and taking direction from senior kitchen staff
