Cygnet Health Care is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our weekend team at Cygnet Cedars. We are a leading provider of complex care services, operating a 23-bed high dependency unit for men with learning disabilities and associated needs. Experienced in catering, preferably within a care setting

The holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards

Enthusiastic, keen to learn & an active team member

Polite & professional, with a positive attitude at all times

An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels

Diligent & take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness

Able to work on your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision
In this weekend-only role (14 hours across Saturday and Sunday), you will be a vital member of the catering team, assisting in the preparation of balanced and appetizing meals that cater to specific dietary requirements. Your responsibilities extend from active cooking tasks to maintaining a clinical level of cleanliness across all service areas, dining rooms, and equipment. You will play a key role in stock rotation and delivery management while ensuring strict compliance with Cygnet’s hygiene standards and COSHH regulations. By maintaining an organized and hygienic kitchen environment, you directly contribute to the smooth operation of the service and the overall comfort of the people in our care.
