JUNIOR BOOKKEEPER – CONTRACTOR

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Junior Bookkeeper supports the Finance Team in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth day-to-day financial operations across the Charles Hope portfolio. This role is essential in upholding our financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and commitment to excellent guest experience.

The ideal contractor is detail-oriented, organised, and confident working within Charles Hope processes and structures.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Record Maintenance
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial data within Xero in accordance with CH policies and brand standards.
• Support weekly and monthly payroll checks and financial processing tasks.
• Assist with bank reconciliations across multiple entities, flagging discrepancies promptly.
• Support the preparation of financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow).

Accounts Payable & Receivable
• Process invoices, bills, receipts, and payments in line with CH procedures.
• Review automated sales invoices to ensure correct alignment with bookings and property activity.
• Assist with AP/AR follow-ups to maintain strong cashflow and minimise aged debt.
• Maintain clear audit trails and accurate documentation for compliance.

Administrative Duties
• Keep financial documents organised and compliant with CH document management standards.
• Respond to finance-related queries from suppliers, internal teams, and partners.
• Support the Finance Team with admin tasks, filing, and data organisation.
• Handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Strong attention to detail and organisation.
• Understanding of basic bookkeeping and VAT principles.
• Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office.
• 1–2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in hospitality/property management beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team structure.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
