Job description
PETERHOUSE, Trumpington Street, Cambridge, CB2 1RD
The salary for the post will be in the range of £38,286 – 41,443 per annum (depending on experience).
The post is offered full-time but 80% working may be considered for the right candidate
Peterhouse is the oldest College in Cambridge (founded in 1284) and is among the smallest (currently 300 undergraduates; 176 postgraduates; 41 Fellows).
The post holder will provide IT support on a large range of services to the College population with particular responsibility supporting the College network and College applications. In addition, the post holder will work within a team to support, plan and help develop future network infrastructure strategies to continually improve network performance and resilience to ensure the best possible service to the College.
You will be responsible for Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including network switches and wireless access points. You will maintain the College network hardware infrastructure and arranging scheduled upgrades to network hardware including switches and Wireless Access points; be part of the designing and planning upgrades of network hardware and infrastructure; provide Mail administration, other Office (365) applications and associated troubleshooting, amongst other duties that form part of this role.
The post holder will have a flexible approach across a range of different tasks and a willingness to work both independently and in collaboration with other team members. This is also very much a front-line customer-facing position and the post holder will need to be comfortable working with a broad range of people, including Fellows, students, other staff members and conference guests.
