Job Description

Take the next step in your financial career with a high-impact role in our UK Natural Resources Investment Banking team. This is a premier opportunity for a driven professional to join a dynamic environment in London, focusing on the critical sectors of Energy, Power & Utilities, Renewables, and Mining.

As an Associate, you will be at the heart of both deal origination and execution. You won’t just be crunching numbers; you will be a strategic partner to UK-listed corporates, providing bespoke advice on cross-border M&A, capital structure optimization, and liability management. This role offers unique exposure to Corporate Broking, requiring frequent interaction with senior client management, equity research, and sales teams. You will bridge the gap between complex financial analysis and high-stakes decision-making, evolving into a senior leader capable of spearheading your own transactions.

Your Impact and Responsibilities

  • Transaction Execution: Lead the full lifecycle of M&A, Equity Capital Markets (ECM), and Debt Capital Markets (DCM) mandates.

  • Advanced Financial Engineering: Define and oversee complex valuation models, including DCF, LBO, and peer trading comparables.

  • Client Engagement: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, building long-term relationships and managing day-to-day account servicing.

  • Strategic Coordination: Collaborate across global product teams—including Leveraged Finance and Ratings—to deliver comprehensive solutions.

  • Leadership: Provide direct mentorship and supervision to Analysts, ensuring the highest quality of output for internal committees and client pitches.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Sector Expertise: Prior experience in Investment Banking or transaction advisory, specifically within Natural Resources, Renewables, or Mining.

  • Technical Mastery: Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills, with expert-level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Communication: Ability to distill complex concepts into concise, persuasive presentations and defend your logic to senior stakeholders.

  • Drive: A proactive, high-energy approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple independent projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Professionalism: Maturity to interact comfortably with C-suite executives and maintain the highest levels of integrity.
