The Function

Interpreting necessitates the ability to listen, comprehend, and retain information in the ‘source’ language before accurately recreating it in the ‘target’ language with total precision.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication for individuals accessing judicial, medical, and municipal services

  • Verify the listener’s comprehension following every spoken sentence

  • Perform conference-style, consecutive, and community service interpreting

  • Handle extremely sensitive and private data

  • Mediate between the service recipient and the provider

Requirements:

  • Mastery of English and at least one additional language

  • Mandatory legal authorization to work within the UK

  • Minimum age of 21 years

  • Academic or professional credentials, such as:

    • Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)

    • Community Interpreting certification

    • Registration with NRPSI, CIOL, or ITI is preferred

    • Academic degree in Linguistics, Translation, or Interpreting

    • Any related linguistic certification
