Position Summary

We are looking for a licensed Intermediate Architect with a specific background in substantial, luxury commercial office developments within London. This role carries the accountability for the strategic planning, evolution, and delivery of technical documentation, which includes the management and synchronization of project team tasks.

Design Accountabilities:

  • Partner with the design team to synchronize the evolution of design and the final construction paperwork.

  • Utilize a sophisticated grasp of spatial planning, programming, and architectural methodologies.

  • Evaluate and address the technical consequences of aesthetic design choices.

  • Champion the practice’s objectives regarding superior design quality, execution, and ecological stewardship.

  • Assist in the formulation of granular drawings and provide guidance to less experienced staff.

Technical Accountabilities:

  • Oversee the creation of schematic designs, development sets, and building documents alongside the Project Manager.

  • Synchronize the execution of project records, site plans, and technical details to ensure rigorous quality oversight.

  • Stay informed on the progression of building technologies and integrated systems.

  • Align and integrate relevant engineering frameworks into the architectural project.

  • Appraise shop drawings, physical material palettes, and construction sets for design alignment.

  • Execute and record site inspections to track building advancement.

  • Manage construction administration tasks, including RFIs, RFPs, and official change requests.

  • Draft technical reports and specs; evaluate completed cost projections, plans, and calculations.

  • Perform analysis for regulatory reviews, covering zoning, life-safety codes, and accessibility.

Management Accountabilities:

  • Assist the project manager in defining architectural budgets, milestone schedules, and work strategies.

  • Supervise the assembly of construction sets and specifications in line with project scale, timeline, and budget.

  • Coordinate meeting goals, lead sessions, and provide necessary records alongside management.

  • Support business development efforts through client and owner-facing presentations.

  • Direct and instruct junior personnel, maintaining oversight of their daily tasks.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Education: Advanced post-graduate degree in Architecture and Part III professional qualification.

  • Licensure: Formal registration with the ARB or a recognized equivalent body.

  • Background: Comprehensive experience in all design phases and the production of construction records.

  • Project History: Proven delivery of large-scale schemes valued at £20M or higher.

  • Knowledge: Deep familiarity with building regulations, technical specifications, and engineering systems.

  • Software: Practical proficiency in Revit and the ability to review and interpret CAD data.
