Schedule & Contract

  • Working Hours: 25.9 hours per week (3.5 days).

  • Contract Type: Permanent.

  • Flexibility: Open to requests for compressed hours, term-time working, or flexible start/finish times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Inspections: Traveling on local bus services to monitor time-keeping, vehicle condition, and overall passenger experience.

  • Revenue Protection: Inspecting passenger tickets for validity and checking driver documentation for accuracy regarding usage and revenue.

  • Data Collection: Conducting on-bus surveys, gathering service data, and distributing transport information to the public.

  • Infrastructure Support: Ensuring roadside timetable displays are accurate and updated.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4-9/C or above) OR equivalent experience.

  • Licensing: Must hold a valid full driving licence.

  • Technical: Proficiency in spreadsheets and databases for checking and inputting data with high attention to detail.

  • Language: Ability to speak fluent English (mandatory under the Immigration Act 2016).

Personal Attributes

  • Conflict Management: Ability to handle face-to-face confrontation professionally and remain calm under pressure.

  • Logic & Planning: Self-motivated enough to plan and prioritise a field-based workload with minimal supervision.

  • Knowledge: An interest in sustainable travel and an understanding of passenger transport issues.
