ICT Technician

Star Salford Academy is seeking a talented and dedicated ICT Business Support Specialist to join our growing school. Having opened in September 2023, we are a 5-form entry secondary school with a unique leadership specialism. We are looking for a technical expert who is passionate about using their skills to improve the life chances of young people in a disadvantaged community.

In this role, you will be the backbone of our digital learning environment, ensuring that teachers and pupils have the hardware, software, and network reliability they need to pursue educational excellence.

Role Overview

• Position: ICT & Business Support

• Location: Star Salford Academy, Salford

Key Responsibilities

• Network Management: Effectively manage and maintain the school’s ICT network to ensure 100% uptime for learning and administration.

• Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner to minimize disruption to the curriculum.

• Procurement & Installation: Lead the selection, purchase, and installation of both educational and office-based hardware and software.

• Systems Integration: Manage the deployment of specialist educational software and ensure all hardware is optimized for classroom use.

• Stakeholder Support: Provide exceptional customer service to pupils, teachers, and the wider Star community, fostering strong professional relationships.

The successful candidate will be a committed team player with high-level technical expertise and an organized approach to complex tasks.

Requirements:

• Education: Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 9-4/A*-C) including English and Maths.

• Technical Skillset: Proven experience in managing ICT networks and troubleshooting diverse hardware/software environments.

• Service Mindset: Extensive experience delivering outstanding customer service.
