Chiller Service Technician – Scotland (Field Based)

About the Role

As a Chiller Service Technician, your primary mission is to provide high-class troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning for large-scale industrial water chillers. You will be a lead figure on-site, often running large projects single-handedly or supervising other technicians. This is a role for a technical heavyweight; you will be expected to diagnose challenging breakdowns, perform centrifugal compressor rebuilds, and advise on wider system installations. Whether you are on-site or providing remote technical support, you will be the go-to expert for complex wiring diagrams, P&ID drawings, and pressure-enthalpy analysis.

Requirements

  • Expertise: Deep experience within a technician role in the HVAC industry, specifically focused on large industrial water chillers.

  • Qualifications: NVQ/City & Guilds in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and F-Gas Category 1 (essential).

  • Technical Literacy: Fully competent in reviewing complex technical documents, including P&ID drawings and Pressure Enthalpy diagrams.

  • Specialisms: Expert support in one or more of: Centrifugal Compressor rebuilds, Absorption Chillers, or Chiller Sequencing controls.

  • Mobility: Full UK driving licence is required for travel across the region.

  • Competence: Technical familiarity with both Carrier and other major manufacturer equipment.
