We’re looking for a proactive and organised Health & Safety Operative to join St Luke’s on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You’ll play a key part in supporting our Health & Safety function, helping to keep staff, volunteers, and visitors safe across all our sites – from the hospice itself to our busy retail shops and distribution centres.

e same. You’ll be:
• Assisting with general and specific risk assessments and ensuring safe systems of work are implemented
• Supporting investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and helping to identify trends and preventative actions
• Carrying out routine health and safety audits and inspections across the estate
• Maintaining accurate records, logs, and compliance documentation
• Supporting fire safety, DSE assessments, and emergency planning activities
• Preparing reports, correspondence, and presentations for the H&S team
• Promoting a positive and proactive health and safety culture across the organisation

We’re looking for someone who:
• Has strong organisational and administrative skills with good attention to detail
• Understands the basics of health and safety and is keen to develop further (a IOSH qualification is essential. NEBOSH or equivalent qualification would be an advantage)
• Communicates clearly and enjoys working with people across different teams
• Is practical, adaptable, and happy to work across multiple sites (a full UK driving licence is essential)
