  • Role: HR Advisor

  • Location: Leicester (LE1) – Hybrid (minimum 2 days office-based/external meetings)

  • Job Type: Two positions available (1x Part-time and 1x Full-time)

  • Contract: Temporary (Short-term cover)

  • Sector: Public Sector / Local Authority

Financials & Hours

  • Pay Rate: £21.64 per hour

  • Part-time Hours: 2.5 days per week

  • Full-time Hours: Standard full-time hours


Key Responsibilities

  • Expert Advice: Providing professional HR advice, support, and training while ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.

  • Employee Relations: Managing operational HR issues and fostering a positive performance management culture.

  • Strategy & Policy: Contributing to the development of HR strategies and service development policies.

  • Customer Focus: Promoting a positive service image and addressing specific customer needs.


Candidate Requirements

Experience

  • Operational HR: Significant experience as a generalist operational HR advisor handling employee relations (ER) at all levels.

  • Public Sector: Experience working within a Local Authority or public sector body is highly desirable.

  • Union Relations: Experience negotiating with Trade Unions is very desirable.

Skills

  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to influence others.

  • Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to interpret complex legislation.

  • Autonomy: Ability to work independently, manage high-pressure deadlines, and motivate team members.


Work Requirements

  • Flexibility: Must be able to work away from home at least two days per week (office or meetings) to support induction and performance.
