Key Responsibilities
-
Expert Advice: Providing professional HR advice, support, and training while ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.

Employee Relations: Managing operational HR issues and fostering a positive performance management culture.

Strategy & Policy: Contributing to the development of HR strategies and service development policies.

Customer Focus: Promoting a positive service image and addressing specific customer needs.
Candidate Requirements
Experience
-
Operational HR: Significant experience as a generalist operational HR advisor handling employee relations (ER) at all levels.
-
Public Sector: Experience working within a Local Authority or public sector body is highly desirable.
-
Union Relations: Experience negotiating with Trade Unions is very desirable.
Skills
-
Communication: Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to influence others.

Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to interpret complex legislation.

Autonomy: Ability to work independently, manage high-pressure deadlines, and motivate team members.
Work Requirements

Flexibility: Must be able to work away from home at least two days per week (office or meetings) to support induction and performance.
