Job title – Housekeeper

Report to – Housekeeping Supervisor, Manager

Sites – To work at Holburne Road Surgery (201 Holburne Road Surgery, SE3 8HQ)

Salary – £13.85 per hour

Hours – 5 hours per week

Work Timing – 6.30pm – 7.30pm

THIS POSITION IS IDEAL FOR SOMEONE LIVING LOCALLY IN THE AREA.

We’re looking for a local, reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our friendly team at a busy local surgery. This role is vital to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
• Clean and sanitise clinical and non-clinical areas (waiting rooms, toilets, staff kitchen, offices)
• Follow infection control protocols and cleaning schedules
• Replenish supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet rolls, etc.)
• Safely handle cleaning products and equipment
• Report maintenance issues or hazards promptly
• To fill in cleaning schedules

What We’re Looking For
• Experience in cleaning or housekeeping (healthcare setting preferred but not essential)
• Understanding of hygiene standards and infection control
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Willingness to learn and follow site-specific procedures
• Can communicate with staff

COMPETENCIES
• The candidate must be hard working, very organised and dedicated Housekeeping Assistant
• To know the colour code for mops and cloths and buckets and to be strictly followed at all times.
• To provide a clean and safe environment with the use of cleaning equipment and using materials appropriately and effectively
• Achieve and maintain high standards of cleanliness at all times, in line with CQC requirements and the company’s Infection Control policy
• Able to carry out Cleaning of specific areas as defined in the cleaning schedules
• Report any issues/damage to the environment/furniture etc to the Housekeeping Supervisor
• Ensure all furnishings, are cleaned and maintained as required
