This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a leading research centre and contribute to groundbreaking projects on slavery and war.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting conceptual research on the complex intersections of slavery and conflict across various historical periods and disciplines. Key tasks include supporting a research st

rand focused on ‘(Re)conceptualising Slavery in War’, designing and facilitating expert workshops and events, and creating informative materials for these activities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct research on the history of slavery and war, identifying key themes and patterns.
• Support the development of a major research project on slavery and war, contributing to the design and delivery of workshops and events.
• Design and deliver training sessions for researchers and other stakeholders on the topics of slavery and war.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and collaborators, including academics, policymakers, and practitioners.

Requirements:
• MA degree in a relevant field such as war studies, history, or international relations.
• Proven experience in conducting research on war studies, military history, strategic thought, political theory, just war theory, and slavery studies.
• Strong working knowledge of major datasets and classifications of war and armed conflict.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
