Sector Statistics: Leadership & Diversity in Automotive
Stratstone is a member of the Automotive 30% Club, an initiative aimed at achieving a better gender balance within the industry. As you cluster this role, consider these current UK automotive leadership benchmarks:
-
Gender Representation: Currently, women make up approximately 20% of the total automotive workforce, but only about 10% of director-level or “Head of Business” roles. The 30% Club aims to fill 30% of key leadership positions with women by 2030.
-
Executive Diversity: According to the Diversity in Retail report, while ethnic diversity is improving in entry-level roles, representation in senior automotive leadership (Head of Business and above) for individuals from Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic backgrounds currently sits at roughly 4-6%.
-
Turnover & Growth: The UK automotive retail sector contributes over £200 billion to the economy annually, making high-level leadership roles like this critical drivers of regional GDP.
