Grill Chef – East Kilbride

About the Role

As a Grill Chef, you will be responsible for managing the busiest section of the kitchen. This is a hands-on role that requires technical precision—you must be able to manage multiple cook times simultaneously while ensuring every steak, burger, and grilled specialty is cooked to the customer’s exact specification. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will collaborate closely with the Sous and Head Chef to maintain a seamless flow between the kitchen and the front-of-house team.

Key Responsibilities

Grill Management: Operating the grill station to prepare and serve meals efficiently during peak periods.
Quality Control: Ensuring all food meets the company’s high standards for taste, temperature, and presentation.
Food Safety: Maintaining a clean and organized station, strictly adhering to HACCP and health and safety regulations.
Teamwork: Communicating clearly with the kitchen brigade to ensure synchronized service and timely meal delivery.
Stock Control: Assisting with food prep and monitoring stock levels to minimize waste and ensure freshness.

Requirements

Experience: Proven experience in a professional kitchen, specifically working on a grill or in a fast-paced catering environment.
Technical Skill: A strong understanding of meat cuts, cooking temperatures, and seasoning.
Speed & Accuracy: The ability to maintain quality and composure during high-pressure services.
Hygiene: A valid Food Hygiene certificate (Level 2 or higher is preferred).
Reliability: A proactive attitude and a commitment to working flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
