Salaried GP (4 Sessions)

Abbey Road Surgery in Waltham Cross is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join their friendly, GMS practice starting 1 April 2026. With a stable list of over 9,500 patients and a “Good” CQC rating, this practice offers a supportive environment within a purpose-built facility. You will be joining a robust clinical team of partners and salaried GPs, supported by an active Primary Care Network (PCN) and an efficient administrative staff.


Core Requirements and Skills

  • Must be on the GMC GP Register.

  • Clinical Excellence: Proficiency in face-to-face, telephone, and video consultations.

  • Proactive Care: A forward-thinking approach to managing diverse patient populations and chronic diseases.

  • Technical Literacy: Experience with SystmOne is highly beneficial.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a PCN framework and share responsibilities, including care home visits (Bullsmoor Lodge) and duty doctor shifts.

  • Desirable: Previous experience in a UK GP practice setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Consultations: Manage a variety of patient presentations through multiple platforms (Face-to-face, Telephone, Video).

  • Diagnostic Management: Perform physical examinations and interpret diagnostic tests.

  • Holistic Health: Advise on lifestyle changes and preventative medicine to improve long-term health outcomes.

  • Prescribing: Safe and effective management of medications and therapies.

  • Shared Duties: Equally participate in pro-rata duty doctor rotations and residential care home visits.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous, up-to-date medical records.


Salary and Benefits

This position offers a highly competitive financial package and a clear path for progression:

  • Salary: £11,000 per session (rising to £11,500 after successful probation).

  • Indemnity: Fully paid by the practice.

  • Leave: 6 weeks annual leave + 1 week study leave (rising to 7 weeks annual leave + 1 week study leave post-probation).

  • Working Pattern (4 Sessions):

    • Wednesday: AM

    • Thursday: AM

    • Friday: AM & PM

  • Environment: Free onsite parking and a purpose-built, well-equipped surgery.
