Fiscal Support Associate – Partial Hours VIRTUAL ASSIGNMENT EDINBURGH & ENCHANTED REGION

Hotel Around Town utilized the global health crisis to tactically arrange for high-caliber expansion in upcoming periods and shifted their commercial approach toward independent lodging and multi-unit real estate. Having expanded their collection from 38 to 55 homes in early 2022, they aim to reach a 100-unit goal across Edinburgh and East Lothian. This post will assist our firm’s leaders with ledger management.

About the post:

Hotel Around Town is seeking a motivated individual who sees tasks through to completion to assist with weekly fiscal activities. The applicant will possess assurance and background with Microsoft Excel, along with a superior focus on specifics. It is vital that the individual is dependable, thorough, and organized in their method, functioning effectively within current frameworks. While prior ledger management background is preferred, it is not mandatory; however, robust mathematical abilities are required.

The perfect applicant will have had consistent contact with Xero (or equivalent) accounting platforms, and ideally with Stripe (instruction provided), Airbnb, booking.com, and Monday.com, among others. You must integrate well into our current group and environment.

Daily Responsibilities involve:

• Productively interacting with the remaining fiscal group.

• Reviewing upcoming bookings for any settlement discrepancies and recording data on appropriate platforms.

• Document creation for the Finance Director’s annual forecast

• Resolving problematic bookings identified during projects. Contacting guests with outstanding balances to correct settlement info, and managing/terminating bookings as needed.

• Reviewing service provider billings

• Refreshing the monthly expenditure log, ensuring all entries have accurate service charges, VAT, and costs, and designating items for billing, exclusion, or other.

• Verifying the essential inventory log is current

• Monthly recording of costs and inventory to Client monthly documents, and finalizing entries on the expenditure log.

• Recording landlord visits as needed

• Entering bookings into Client monthly documents

• Recording bookings and costs to Client billings in Xero, and linking monthly documents

• Designating as authorized and recording settlements within Xero

• Transferring sums to the Monday.com billing log from Bill and Document (cleaning totals, HAT fees, Landlord earnings, and VAT)

• Document refreshing and upkeep (incorporating new real estate and preparing future annual documents)

• Monthly mean pricing analysis

• Verifying all acquisitions are recorded on the Expenditure log (Argos/Amazon/Tesco – Monthly)

Virtual Working Hours:

Position 1: Mon 10am-1pm – Friday 10am-1pm

• Monday through Friday (with occasional weekend coverage anticipated)

• Partial hours: 10-15 weekly

• £15 per hour

Position 2

• Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 12-2pm (with occasional weekday coverage anticipated for leave)

• Partial hours: 4 weekly
