Website EME Services Ltd

Field-based (North UK) with time in our Urmston, Manchester workshop.

Electro-Medical Engineering Services Ltd is looking for a motivated and skilled Field Service Engineer to join our growing team. We are a well-established company specialising in the service, repair, calibration and maintenance of medical and physiotherapy equipment. Our reputation is built on reliability, quality and technical expertise, and we support both NHS and private healthcare providers to keep vital equipment safe, accurate and operational.

This is a field-based role with regular travel to hospitals, clinics and private practices, mainly across the North of the UK. You will also spend some time in our Urmston workshop, where in-house servicing and repairs take place. Most of the work will be within daily travel distance, but there may be a few occasions each year when overnight stays are required. All expenses and accommodation for these will be provided. The role requires independence, good time management and the ability to maintain high standards of service while travelling between sites.

Your main responsibilities will include servicing and preventative maintenance, electrical safety testing to BS EN 62353 standards, functional and performance testing, calibration, and fault diagnosis and repair. You will be expected to keep accurate service records and complete documentation using software such as Word and Excel. A strong eye for detail and a logical approach to problem-solving are essential, and full training will be provided on specialist equipment.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a field service or engineering role, preferably within an electronics or medical equipment environment. A recognised qualification in Electronics, such as a BTEC in Electronic Engineering or equivalent, is required. You should also have a good understanding of basic electronic theory and fault-finding techniques, be confident using standard office software, and be able to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, and you should be based within a reasonable commute of Urmston, Manchester.

In this role, you will work with a variety of physiotherapy and rehabilitation equipment. This includes treatment couches, therapeutic ultrasound machines, electrical stimulation and interferential devices, biofeedback units, shockwave therapy systems, shortwave diathermy machines, laser therapy equipment, CPM (Continuous Passive Motion) machines and different types of physiotherapy gym equipment. Experience with these devices is an advantage but not essential, as full product training will be given.

We offer a starting salary of £31,000, with opportunities for progression based on performance and experience. You will also be provided with a company vehicle for work-related travel, as well as ongoing training and professional development. Our supportive and close-knit team takes pride in its work and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and equipment safety.

This is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical skills in a meaningful and varied role within the healthcare industry. If you are practical, detail-oriented and enjoy working independently as well as part of a team, we would love to hear from you.
