Bank of America

Job Description

Feature Lead (VP Level)

Bank of America is a global leader in financial services, driven by a commitment to “Responsible Growth.” We are looking for a VP-level Feature Lead to join our Global Markets technology team in Bromley. This is a high-impact technical leadership role within the Quartz ecosystem—our next-generation, Python-based trading and risk platform.

In this role, you will be a hands-on technical architect and team lead, overseeing the design and delivery of distributed systems that perform high-frequency risk calculations for trading desks across the globe. If you are a Python expert who thrives in “greenfield” development and enjoys mentoring a squad of elite engineers, this is your opportunity to shape the future of Global Markets technology.

Strategic & Technical Leadership

  • Quartz Platform Mastery: Lead the development of critical components within Quartz, the bank’s primary platform for risk and pricing, using Python as the core language.

  • Architecture & Scalability: Design and implement large-scale distributed systems that ensure sub-second latency and high reliability for consolidated risk reporting.

  • People Management: Direct management of a regional team of 7-8 engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous innovation.

  • Product Domain: Apply your expertise in FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities) or Equities to solve complex pricing and PnL challenges.

  • Process Transformation: Refine CI/CD pipelines, drive best practices in automated testing (FastAPI/Django), and enhance overall system performance.

  • Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key regional point of contact, collaborating with global partners to align technical solutions with broad business strategies.
