Our team in Leeds currently has an opening for a External Account Manager – Beauty & Personal Care
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Promote Brenntag’s speciality product range and services to all current and prospective customers within a designated area and market
• Deliver sustainable profitable growth through taking the lead on customer management, lead generation and conversion of new business
• Manage accounts against set targets, including mandatory face to face sales call quotas each month.
• Accurately document customer meetings and establish rigorous follow-up mechanisms to maintain momentum and close sales deals
• Maintaining the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) database which includes: updating customer contacts regularly, recording and completing customer visit notes on a daily basis, completing details on customer potentials, keeping customer opportunities up to date and raising sample tickets.
• Communicating with relevant members of the team to follow up any actions following a customer interaction
Maintain Customer Pricing, updating the quotations using the system in place and communicating and negotiating where needed.
• Liaise with appropriate Technical Sales Managers and Industry Market Managers to maximise sales opportunities.
• Arrange and attend customer joint visits with other stakeholders including Technical Sales Managers and Suppliers
• Proactively liaise with Internal Stakeholders to resolve customer queries/issues in a promptly manner
• Build customer loyalty and develop knowledge of their business activity, highlighting potential products to offer from Brenntag’s product range
• Prepare and complete monthly reports for the respective sales area with insight into customers activity, with market and competitor information
• Analyse sales performance trends and react accordingly to any lost and/or threatened business
• Seek and report any competitive insight to inform strategy and purchasing/pricing tactics
YOUR PROFILE
• Full UK Driving License is essential
• Experience in External Account Management (ideally in the Personal Care Industry but not limited to)
• Self-motivating
• Strong communicator with negotiation skills
• Well organised
• Quick response

• Customer-facing experience
• Commercial skills
• Ability to confidently organise, plan and execute sales strategies
