Longsight Community Primary, the flagship school of Big Life Schools, is seeking a visionary Executive Headteacher to lead our operational and strategic development. Rooted in the community-led initiatives of the Longsight Children’s Centre, our school is more than just an educational institution; it is a hub for families and a catalyst for local opportunity.
As a Voice 21 Oracy Centre of Excellence, we are looking for a leader who is passionate about communication, inclusivity, and the “Big Life” values of being courageous, creative, and thoughtful.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Drive the long-term vision of Longsight Community Primary while contributing to the wider strategic goals of the Big Life Schools Trust.

Operational Excellence: Manage the daily functions of the school alongside an experienced Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure a safe, efficient, and thriving environment.

Curriculum & Oracy: Maintain and build upon our status as an Oracy Centre of Excellence, ensuring high-quality teaching and a curriculum that empowers every child to find their voice.

Community Integration: Work in close partnership with the Longsight Nursery, Children’s Centre, and Family Hub to ensure the school remains the heart of the local community.

Staff Development: Coach and mentor colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous professional growth and “valuing difference.”
