Lloyds Banking Group
Job Description
Enterprise Architect | CTO Office – Commercial & Business Transaction Banking
Join Lloyds Banking Group, where technology meets purpose. We are looking for a visionary Enterprise Architect to join our Chief Technology Office (CTO), specifically aligned with our Business and Commercial Banking division. In this role, you aren’t just designing systems; you are a thought leader tasked with shaping the future of how millions of businesses interact with their finances.
This is a pivotal position for an architect who is passionate about Cloud, AI, and Data, and who possesses the “gravitas” to influence at the Executive level. You will act as the architectural bridge between complex business roadmaps and cutting-edge engineering execution. If you thrive in agile, high-stakes environments and want to drive a transformation agenda within one of the UK’s most iconic financial institutions, your journey starts here.
Your Impact & Strategic Focus
-
Architectural Thought Leadership: Lead, direct, and shape the technology strategies for Commercial Banking, translating high-level business requirements into detailed, actionable roadmaps.
-
Platform Evolution: Work in lockstep with Platform Owners to evolve Cloud (Public & Private) products, ensuring they are resilient, sustainable, and “secure by design.“
-
Evangelism & Relationship Building: Build trust across the Group and with third-party vendors (Cloud Service Providers), acting as a senior partner to influence their product evolution in line with the Bank’s needs.
-
Modern Tech Stack Delivery: Drive the adoption of containerized microservices, event-driven design, and API-first architectures to deliver unparalleled customer outcomes.
-
Future-Proofing: Maintain a strong “point of view” on emerging technologies like Gen AI, Digital Identity, and Quantum Computing, assessing their maturity and business applicability.
What You Bring to the Group
-
Enterprise Expertise: A proven background in Enterprise Architecture frameworks and principles within complex, regulated environments (ideally Financial Services).
-
Domain Knowledge: Experience in Commercial Banking, Payments, or Transactional Channels is a significant advantage.
-
Technical Breadth: Mastery of modern paradigms, including DevOps, CI/CD, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and Hybrid Cloud deployment models.
-
Storytelling & Influence: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical models into compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
-
Collaborative Style: An approachable, friendly leadership style that breaks down barriers and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
