This role is based across three sites, including the state-of-the-art Heatherwood Hospital, which recently received GIRFT accreditation. You will join an expansive team of 18 gastroenterologists and 5 clinical endoscopists, providing a rich environment for mastering complex procedures while contributing to a high-performing service.

Core Requirements and Skills

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.

  • MBBS (or equivalent) and MRCP.

  • JAG accreditation in OGD is essential (JAG accreditation in Colonoscopy is highly desirable).

  • Demonstrated UK experience in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.

  • Competency in upper GI endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy.

  • Ability to provide four service lists per week (including one inpatient list) and participate in triage sessions.

  • Interest in audit, research, and leadership within a clinical setting.

Fellowship Highlights

This post is specifically designed to bridge the gap between training and consultant practice. It offers:

  • Advanced Training: Dedicated lists for techniques such as oesophageal RFA (HALO), upper GI/colonic EMR, single balloon enteroscopy, capsule endoscopy, and full-thickness resection.

  • Work-Life Balance: No general medical on-call duties and no fixed ward commitments, allowing you to focus entirely on your sub-specialty development.

  • Professional Growth: Opportunities to contribute to JAG-accredited course delivery and departmental training.

Frimley Health is a “Disability Confident” employer and a recipient of the Armed Forces Gold Award, reflecting our commitment to an inclusive and supportive workplace. With a competitive salary of £73,992, this fellowship provides the perfect platform to refine your specialist interests in a modern, accredited endoscopy environment.
