Emergency Nurse Practitioner

The Western Isles Hospital has a permanent opening for a Band 7 Emergency Nurse Practitioner to join our small, high-energy team in Stornoway. This advanced practice role is situated in a unique rural Emergency Department, offering a rewarding blend of emergency care and minor injury services for those who thrive in an unpredictable, fast-paced environment.


Core Requirements and Skills

  • Appropriate NMC registration.

  • Proven experience as Emergency Nurse Practitioner at Band 6 (Minimum of 2 years as an ENP).

  • Post graduate level Advanced Nurse practitioner qualification.

  • Non medical prescribing/Independent Nurse Prescriber qualification.

  • Basic degree in Nursing, ENP training, up to date or commitment to completing ALS, EPLS & ETC/TNCC training.

  • Commitment to delivery of person-centred care using sound evidence-based approach.

  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work co-operatively and flexibly within a small team.

  • Required to be able to work as independent practitioners with expanded scope of practice, high analytical and judgement skills.
