Based across Udston Hospital and Beckford Lodge, you will lead a team to ensure the healthcare environment remains safe, hygienic, and welcoming. This is a vital first-line management role that directly supports patient safety by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Core Requirements and Skills

  • Management Experience: Experience in first-line management or a strong background as a domestic within a public sector environment.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Infection Control, COSHH, Manual Handling, and Health & Safety.

  • Mobility: A full, valid UK/EU driving licence is essential to travel between Udston Hospital and Beckford Lodge.

  • Communication: Good interpersonal and communication skills to manage staff and interact with hospital visitors.

  • Compliance: Knowledge of HR policies, payroll systems, and fire safety protocols.

  • Physical Attributes: Numerate, literate, and practical with good dexterity and a high standard of personal hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

  • Staff Deployment: Effectively manage staff resources to cover cleaning rotas and ensure all areas meet NHS Scotland cleaning standards.
