Director, Wealth Manager

Royal Bank of Canada

Job Description

Director, Wealth Manager

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) is one of the world’s most successful and trusted financial institutions. Within our Wealth Management Europe division, we provide world-class capabilities to high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients—including entrepreneurs, professionals, and multi-generational families. Following the strategic acquisition and integration of RBC Brewin Dolphin, we are a top-tier player in the UK wealth landscape, combining global balance sheet strength with deep, localized investment expertise.

As a Director, Wealth Manager, you will be a senior leader in our London headquarters at 12 Smithfield Street. You are the “CEO” of your client book, responsible for high-stakes relationship management and aggressive business development. At this level, you aren’t just managing money; you are leading a team of specialists to deliver a seamless “One RBC” experience, encompassing investment management, lending, trust, and advanced financial planning.

Strategic Leadership & Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Stewardship: Take full ownership of an elite client base, delivering bespoke advice that aligns with their complex financial and personal legacies.

  • Growth & Origination: Drive net revenue and asset growth through sophisticated networking, identifying new HNW/UHNW opportunities within the London and UK professional markets.

  • Specialist Integration: Act as the lead orchestrator, introducing RBC’s subject matter experts (Lending, Wealth Planning, Cash Management) to enhance the client journey.

  • Digital Advocacy: Lead the adoption of cutting-edge digital wealth solutions to scale efficiency while maintaining the “people-first” touch that defines our brand.

  • Team Mentorship: Provide guidance and performance coaching to junior advisors and associates, fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture.

  • Risk & Integrity: Operate with the highest standards of integrity, ensuring all advice meets stringent regulatory requirements and RBC’s global risk framework.

Your Professional Profile

  • Qualifications: Level 6 CISI or CII is required (Level 4 may be considered only if backed by extensive, high-level industry experience).

  • The Veteran: Significant, demonstrable experience in a senior wealth management or private banking role.

  • The Relationship Builder: A proven ability to earn the trust of complex clients and articulate sophisticated financial solutions with clarity and authority.

  • The Expert: Deep knowledge of global market trends, business sectors, and the current economic landscape of 2026.

  • The Leader: A natural ability to act as a role model, driving positive behaviors and professional growth across your team.
