Based in London, this high-profile leadership role is dedicated to solving the most complex revenue and profit optimization challenges for C-Suite clients across Europe and beyond. You will lead a specialized team of consultants and analysts, leveraging advanced data analytics, AI, and machine learning to deliver margin improvements that are both sustainable and ethically sound. If you are a seasoned strategist with a “Big 4” or boutique consultancy background and a passion for commercializing senior-level relationships, this role offers a platform to shape the future of pricing strategy globally.

Requirements and Skills

  • Deep Expertise: Demonstrable experience in pricing strategy from a leading strategy house, Big 4 firm, or a specialized pricing boutique.

  • Commercial Leadership: A proven track record of managing high-value business development activities and commercializing relationships with C-level stakeholders.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong numerical and analytical capabilities; ability to oversee the development of pricing models using AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics.

  • Sector Knowledge: Detailed understanding of value drivers within corporate and/or Private Equity clients.

  • Problem Solving: Structured thinking combined with the creativity to deliver recommendations that are practically executable.

  • Education: A 1st or 2.1 degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Economics, Maths, Statistics, Engineering, or Physics).

  • Languages: Excellent English is mandatory; proficiency in French or German is a significant advantage.

Role Overview

As a Director, you are the bridge between complex data science and strategic business outcomes. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams across various sectors—including Retail, Healthcare, and Financial Services—to design and implement sophisticated pricing architectures. You aren’t just adjusting price points; you are redefining how clients approach Value-Based, Dynamic, and Competitive Pricing to optimize market share and profitability. This role requires a balance of rigorous project management, thought leadership, and an unwavering commitment to ethical pricing practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Manage a high-performing team of pricing consultants, driving the strategic direction of multiple engagements simultaneously.

  • Client Strategy: Serve as the primary contact for C-Suite executives, translating business goals into actionable, data-driven pricing recommendations.

  • Advanced Analytics: Leverage AI and machine learning tools to analyze customer behavior and market conditions, building financial models to assess margin impact.

  • Business Development: Collaborate with Partners to grow the Pricing Advisory practice, identifying new opportunities and securing future engagements.

  • Thought Leadership: Publish content on pricing innovation and represent KPMG at international conferences and industry events.

  • Quality & Ethics: Ensure all recommendations adhere to regulatory guidelines and balance profitability with transparency and fairness.

Why KPMG Strategy Group?

  • Elite Environment: Part of a diverse team of 350+ practitioners challenging conventional thinking.

  • Global Reach: Serving the most influential C-Suite clients in the UK, Europe, and internationally.

  • Innovation: Direct involvement with the Pricing Centre of Excellence, a hub for cutting-edge analytical techniques and profit optimization.

  • Growth: Ambitious practice-building opportunities where you can directly influence the group’s annual budgeting and strategic goals.

Application Tip: The “Margin vs. Value” Pitch

Peer Note: In a Director-level interview at KPMG, focus on Value-Based Pricing. KPMG looks for leaders who move beyond simple cost-plus models. Be prepared to discuss how you have used data to identify a customer’s “willingness to pay” and how you implemented a strategy that captured that value without eroding brand trust or market share.
