Design Co-ordinator (Traditional Build Houses) | Permanent | Hertfordshire

Overview:
Join one of the South East’s leading Main Contractors as a Design Co-ordinator on a permanent basis, working on traditional build housing projects. The company has over 40 years’ experience delivering high-quality housing, including new builds, refurbishment, and regeneration schemes, with a focus on safe, environmentally sustainable buildings.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the design process and collate design information.

• Coordinate consultant and subcontractor designs, chair design meetings and workshops, and report progress to line managers.

• Provide detailed design information for construction and commercial teams to ensure projects are completed within programme, budget, and specification requirements.

• Ensure designs comply with Employer’s Requirements and obtain client approvals for variances.

• Manage statutory and technical approvals from local authorities, statutory providers, and warranty providers.

• Negotiate fees and appoint design consultants, schedule their deliverables, and obtain warranties under contract terms.

• Promote professional relations with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and statutory authorities.

Experience:

• Track record with developers or main contractors on traditional build housing.

• Experience in pre-construction processes and land appraisals is advantageous.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of coordinating multidisciplinary teams, chairing meetings, and leading design processes.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential); ASTA Powerproject (desirable); Microsoft Office (essential).

• Design or construction-focused degree or equivalent is desirable.

• Willingness to travel to different sites across the Northern Home Counties.

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + car/car allowance/package
