We are currently seeking a Deputy Production Manager to join our Production department on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Southbank Centre Production unit oversees the comprehensive technical requirements for every event hosted across our site. This position entails developing an extensive understanding of the Southbank Centre’s technical inventory and physical infrastructure, alongside fostering robust professional ties with our clients. The successful candidate will collaborate intimately with the Producing, Programming, and Production departments to align and coordinate the production planning cycle.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Formulate the monthly departmental production rota in collaboration with the Head of Production.

  • Partner with the Producing, Programming, and Production teams to ensure Southbank projects are executed to an elite standard.

  • Assist the Production Management leadership in defining and refining operational production workflows.

  • Facilitate the production planning cycle by managing debriefs and production meetings, drafting schedules, fulfilling information requests, and interfacing with external vendors and internal units.

  • Author Method Statements and Risk Assessments for various productions, ensuring total adherence to CDM regulations, licensing mandates, and Southbank Centre Health and Safety protocols.

Technical Expertise and Background

  • Proficiency in utilizing staff scheduling platforms and Google Sheets.

  • Professional history in production management for performing arts or live music sectors.

  • Verified track record of managing numerous simultaneous projects within strict timeframes.

  • Strong administrative capabilities, including communication, organization, and the maintenance of precise documentation.

  • Fundamental understanding of core technical disciplines, including AV, sound, lighting, and automation systems.
